Canada Goose will open six stores later this year, including in Paris and Milan and the Mall of America in Minneapolis. The company currently operates 11 stores across three continents.
ECCO’s FY18 revenues hit the equivalent of $1.55 billion. In North America, sales rose 7.6 percent, 12.6 percent on a constant currency basis, to $314.7 million. The company slowed its U.S. store expansion program as its focused more on supporting Direct-to-Consumer initiatives and saw e-commerce sales in the market rise 26 percent. Meanwhile, sales of ECCO golf shoes, bolstered by the brand’s BIOM Hybrid platform, increased 38 percent last year.
PLAE has established a new division in the United Kingdom, PLAE Europe that will represent the athletic flooring brand across Europe and be led by Jake Saunders, director of U.K. sales.
NFL and the NFL Players Association issued the results of their latest helmet testing last week with the issuance of a poster ranking the headgear in order of its performance in laboratory testing. Rankings are based solely on the ability of the helmet to reduce head impact severity measures in the lab testing with fit, retention and long-term durability not gauged in the rankings. There are 27 helmets in the “Top-Performing Group,” led by the VICIC Zero1, Schutt F7 LTD and Riddell SpeedFlex Precision Diamond. The NFL/NFLPA also listed 11 helmets from four brands that will be prohibited during the upcoming season and seven models that passed tests but were not among the best performers.
